Tuesday, December 19th, 2006Business breakfast approaching… The Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce and United Way’s First Focus on Kids are hosting the second “You’re It” Business Breakfast at Doubletree-Reid Park on Mar. 22. The purpose of the event is to engage and activate business leaders around the importance of early childhood development and readiness. The program will include dynamic speaker David Lawrence, former publisher of The Miami Herald and leading expert in the field of early childhood. Apprentice Program… The Tucson Chamber’s Apprentice Program is in the final stage of planning. Several business leaders including Dick Horton of Ashton Company, Dr. Bob Breault of Breault Research, Tom Hinman of Evergreen Air Center, Wayne Lundeberg of Catalina Technology Management and Alice Templeton of Stantec Consulting have expressed an interest in a two-year engineering apprentice position and are in the process of sending job descriptions forward. Paula Stuht and Cheryll Frazier will take the next step, which involves recruiting the apprentices through the University of Arizona Professional Career Services Center.
