Cochise County to offer prescription drug discount card for all residents

Prices on everything are going up and prescription drugs are no exception. That’s why the Cochise County Health Department has teamed up with the National Association of Counties to help all residents in the struggle to purchase necessary prescription medications for family members – even pets.
Beginning October 20, all residents, regardless of current health insurance coverage, will have access to the free Cochise County Prescription Discount Card.
And if free isn’t enough, cardholders receive an average discount of 20 to 50 percent on commonly prescribed medications on top of that! What’s more, there are no income requirements so residents who are insured, uninsured or underinsured will be able to receive this card and provide necessary medications to their families.
Any county resident without prescription coverage can use this program. Even if you have insurance for prescription drugs, you may still benefit from the discount card, since it may save you money on prescription drugs your existing plan does not cover.
The Cochise County Prescription Discount Card is part of a nationwide program accessible to residents in thousands of counties.
Cards are administered by Caremark Rx, Inc. through the County Health Department, but they will also be available at participating pharmacies and other counter locations throughout the county.
At least 18 retail pharmacies throughout Cochise County will honor the Discount Card. Cardholders can also present the prescription card to more than 57,000 participating retail pharmacy outlets throughout the country.
This card is not available for pharmacies outside of the U.S.
