Governmental Affairs

Vice President: Paul Parisi

Managers: Robert Medler, Rachel Leffall

The Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce Governmental Affairs Division is responsible for advocating on behalf of the business community with state and local government entities to ensure an atmosphere in which businesses can thrive. Governmental Affairs utilizes the legal, political and economic powers of the Arizona Legislature, the Tucson City Council and the Pima County Board of Supervisors to create a climate in which both business and the community can flourish. Recruitment and promotion of business-friendly leaders to ensure an atmosphere in which businesses can succeed and create jobs is another principal objective of the Tucson Chamber. Important issues that affect businesses in which the Governmental Affairs Division takes an active role include taxation, regulatory assistance, the environment, land use codes, water, transportation and more.

Strategic Objective: Utilize the legal, political and economic powers of the Arizona Legislature, the Tucson City Council, and the Pima County Board of Supervisors to create a climate in which both business and the community can flourish.  Recruit and promote business-friendly leaders to ensure an atmosphere in which businesses can succeed and create jobs.
