BulletinThe sun also shines in Pinal County.
A Message from President & CEO
Mike Varney

50th Legislative Session Ends
The 50th Legislative Session adjourned sine die on April 20, 2011, exactly 100 days after it started which is very fitting for our 100th Legislature since Arizona was recognized as a state.  This legislature will be remembered for balancing the budget for the first time in many years without budget gimmicks, rollovers and borrowing.  The immigration debate once again resurfaced, however no significant legislation was passed.  Finally the Second Amendment was front and center with several bills pitting the Second Amendment against private property rights. 2011 Legislative Report Card
The Chamber has developed a report card showing individual legislators' votes on the 31 bills the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce (TMCC) followed during the 1st Session of the 50th Legislature on your behalf. A short description of each bill and TMCC's position on each bill is included in this five page document. You can download the document here or visit our website at www.tucsonchamber.org.
