Committees in Business Development
Business Development Committee
Meets the third Thursday of each month
at the Chamber, 9:00am
Focus: Helping Businesses successfully stay in business and potentially expand operations to improve the Tucson area economy by providing new jobs for our citizens. This Committee is made up of three taskforces, each with a specific objective and plan of work to accomplish.
Taskforce 1: Building Bridges to Business (B3) - a proactive web-based survey tool used to help assess the current business climate and assist companies, one-on-one, overcome roadblocks and hindrances that might otherwise result in the business leaving our community or closing entirely. Members set up meetings, conduct interviews and analyze the findings as well as develop action plans to solve “roadblock” problems.
Taskforce 2: International Outreach - The Chamber of Commerce has partnered with several agencies (click on “International for information on this groups) to expand our ability to assist member companies with their international plans and needs. This taskforce will participate in the outreach activities and build an action plan to help other companies become more globally connected.
Taskforce 3: Retail Recruitment for Downtotwn - The Chamber of Commerce has offered to help the downtown Alliance to entice specific, nationally-known retail businesses to consider opening a franchise in our new, improved downtown. This taskforce will help identify the types of businesses that would best draw customers to the area. The members of this group would also participate in correspondences with the potential retailers and possible travel to meet with the decision makers.
