I want to open a restaurant. Where should I go for licensing?
You will need your basic licenses at the state and city level, but you will also need to go through Pima County’s Health Dept. For specific information, visit their website.

Where do I register my business name?
You will need to register your business name with the Secretary of State. You can download instructions and forms at their website. This site has additional resources for small businesses.

I want to incorporate my business. What office must I contact?
You’ll need to contact the Arizona Corporation Commission to fill out the appropriate forms.

Where can I get a traffic map?
Pima Association of Governments has yearly traffic maps for the metro Tucson area. You can pick one up for free at the Chamber of Commerce or at the PAG office.

I want to work out of my home. Do I need a license?
The City of Tucson does require a separate home occupation license.

What type of entity should my business be?
There are advantages and disadvantages to each type of entity. You can refer to the Entrepreneur’s Edge to compare structures. You may want to talk to a professional about what entity your particular businesses should form.

What Dept of Labor regulations must I follow?
