The focus of the Business Development & Local Government Committee (BDLG) is helping companies successfully stay in business and potentially expand operations to improve the Tucson area economy by addressing existing and potential local legislation and regulations and by assisting businesses to become successful and provide new jobs for our citizens.
Building Bridges to Business (B3)
A proactive web-based survey tool used to help assess the current business climate and assist companies, one-on-one, overcome roadblocks and hindrances that might otherwise result in the business leaving our community or closing entirely. Members set up meetings, conduct interviews and analyze the findings as well as develop action plans to solve “roadblock” problems.
Taskforce initiatives – an opportunity for committee members to work on various taskforces focused on improving the business climate in the community. Sign codes, business consulting for down economic cycles, transportation, procurement, etc. are some of the future taskforces.
BidSource – a sub-committee of this group will be responsible for administering the new BidSource program now offered at the Chamber. This unique program offers an easy to use online source for all government (and some private) contracts let to bid in the state.
