Government Affairs

Robert Medler,

VP of Government Affairs

The Tucson Metro Chamber of Commerce Government Affairs Division is responsible for advocating on behalf of the business community with federal, state and local government entities to ensure an atmosphere in which businesses can thrive. Government Affairs utilizes the legal, political and economic powers of the Arizona Legislature, the Tucson City Council and the Pima County Board of Supervisors to create a climate in which both business and the community can flourish. Recruitment and promotion of business-friendly leaders to ensure an atmosphere in which businesses can succeed and create jobs is another principal objective of the Tucson Metro Chamber. Important issues that affect businesses in which the Government Affairs Division takes an active role include taxation, regulatory assistance, the environment, land use codes, water, transportation and more.

Strategic Objective: Utilize the legal, political and economic powers of the Arizona Legislature, the Tucson City Council, and the Pima County Board of Supervisors to create a climate in which both business and the community can flourish. Recruit and promote business-friendly leaders to ensure an atmosphere in which businesses can succeed and create jobs.

It is essential that local government adopt a pro-business culture that promotes the growth of business and expedites its development.  The Tucson Metro Chamber will be the tip of the spear in representing the change that companies of all sizes demand from local governmental bodies.
