Public Hearings Scheduled for Proposed Alternative Expenditure Limitation - Home Rule Option
Two public hearings are scheduled for city residents to comment on a proposed general election ballot question to cintinue the Alternative Expenditure Limitation - Home Rule Optin. "Home Rule" allows city voters to set expenditure limits, typically established as the annual budget adopted by the Mayor and Council. Under this option, voters have the opportunity to re-approve the alternative limit every four years. Click here for more information, or visit www.tucsonaz.gov/homerule.

Chamber Announces Summer Advertising Rates

The Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce understands the adverse impact the current economic situation has on business. In an effort to help promote business, the Chamber is offering members promotional advertising rates during the summer months (June, July, and August).

City Releases 3rd Annual Sustainability Report

The City's Office of Conservation and Sustainable Development (OCSD) released the City's 3rd Annual Sustainability Report on June 17, 2009.  The report showcases efforts the City is making to protect our local environment and the integrity of our community. Master Gardener Program Applications

Fall 2009 Master Gardener Program applications are now being accepted
The application deadline for the upcoming Master Gardener Program is August 1, 2009. Notification of acceptance will be given by August 31, 2009. Classes will be held Tuesdays from 9:00am to 3:30pm September 15 through November 24, 2009. Course fee: $150.00. For an application or questions, contact the Pima County Cooperative Extension Office at 520-626-5161 or 520-648-0808 (Green Valley).
